Breakout Sessions
When you register, you have the choice to choose 2 of the 5 breakout sessions.
1. Watercolour
Have you ever seen a beautiful watercolour card or picture and wanted to recreate it but didn’t know where to start? Come learn some really basic watercolour skills with Sue Apperloo and Mary-Anna Ouwehand to create your own masterpiece. You’ll leave with a beautiful piece of art to remember the conference by.
2. Swing Dancing
If you’re the type who needs a movement break between listening sessions, consider learning a new dance step or two with a local Swing dance instructor. All experience levels are welcome!
3. Moss Flower Basket
To all the ladies missing the feel of dirt under their nails or wanting to add colour to their homes please join us to build a beautiful moss lined hanging basket. This is a wonderful opportunity to build a custom basket with flowers from Vaandrager’s nursery. This break out session is for the experienced and unexperienced gardeners giving us a chance to learn from one another about flowers. Dawn Dykstra will facilitate this session, she is a mom of three and lover of flowers, though still learning through trial and error in her own garden.
4. Prayer Binder
Are your prayers mostly “on the go” and “spotty” when you need help, or even just before meals? How are your conversations with God? Are you desiring to grow deeper in your prayer life? Join Shena Gorter in creating a prayer binder where you can organize your thoughts and prayers for adoration, rest, confession, thanksgiving and petition for all the people and areas in your life. You leave the workshop with a personalized binder to help you get started in making prayer a routine, including written prayers and other tools for using scripture to inspire your personal conversations with God
5. Welcoming the Stranger & Foreigner
Jesus said, “Love the Lord above all and love your neighbor”. Who is our neighbour, especially in this day of changes in our culture. How do we see the kingdom of God breaking into our own life and neighbourhood? Eldean Kamp has a passion for welcoming the stranger and foreigner into our midst. Join her as we see a vision of what God is up to through her testimony and the testimonies of one another.
