Sensory Room
The sensory room is located in room 108 next to to the KidsChurch space. It is a quiet place of retreat for children who may need some quiet time or extra activities.
At New Life, we believe every child should feel safe, welcomed, and loved. Our Sensory Room is a specially designed space available during our Sunday morning services for children who may benefit from a more supportive and individualized environment.
This room provides a calm, supportive setting with sensory-friendly activities and tools to help children feel at ease. Whether your child experiences sensory sensitivities, has special needs, or simply needs a break from the larger group setting, our volunteers are here to care for them with compassion and respect.
The Sensory Room runs alongside our Sunday service and is open to children of all ages who may need it. Our goal is to create a space where every child—and every family—can fully participate in worship in a way that best supports their needs.
We’re glad you’re here, and we’re honored to walk alongside your family.
Check-in and out
Before the service starts, kids come to the Check in Station in the main foyer. At the booth your children will receive a sticker with their name, (as will you) then the children will accompany you into the regular Sunday service or downstairs (it’s your preference). If you choose for your child to come with you into the worship, after the singing portion of the service is over, our grade 1-5 are dismissed and will head downstairs for KidsChurch. When you come for pick-up after the service, you will need to hand in the sticker that matches your child’s sticker before they can be released into your care.
Care
In the sensory room on Sundays, New Life usually has two kids for every one volunteer, and often offers one-on-one support when needed. There are always a few caring volunteers in the room so every child feels supported and safe. That’s also why it really helps to know ahead of time if your child will be joining—so New Life can be fully prepared to give them the best care possible.
